DETECTIVES investigating a rape on New Year's Day are looking to identify this man.

During the early hours of January 1, a 24-year-old woman was attacked in her home in Baddow Road, Great Baddow. The culprit then stole several of her belongings and fled.

The night before she was out at the Candy Club on Barrack Square, Chelmsford.

Investigating officers have reviewed CCTV footage and also looked at photographs taken inside the nightclub on the night.

They now want to talk with this man pictured inside.

Det Con Karen Hutchings said: “After looking through the nightclub CCTV and we have not been able to find any relevant, helpful footage.

"However, there was a photographer on duty inside the club and he has given us some photographs of men who were inside.

“We would like to identify him and speak to him. We ask him and those who know him to contact us.”

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact officers at Colchester's Sexual Offences Investigation Team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
