THE daughter of a man who died after sustaining serious head injuries at his home in West Hanningfield paid tribute to a "doting dad and grandad".

Ronald Mayne, 68, was found with the injuries at his home on Templeton Caravan Park, Bakers Lane on February 27.

He was taken to Basildon University Hospital and later transferred to Romford’s Queens Hospital.

He died there on Wednesday, March 5.

Paying tribute, Debbie, Ronald's daughter, said: "Ron was a beautiful man inside and out. He was a doting Dad and Grandad, a great Brother, Companion, Uncle and Friend.

"Ron had a brilliant sense of humour, and a wonderfully creative streak. He was deeply sensitive, loving and caring; he'd do anything for anyone.

"Ron was unique, and is irreplaceable. Rest in peace."

After a brief appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday morning, Poore was presented to the Crown Court for a bail application hearing, but was remanded in custody.
