HUNDREDS of people sent Chinese lanterns into the sky above Great Baddow in a loving tribute to their pal.
On Saturday evening a gathering was held at the Baddow Recreation Ground just off Baddow Road to pay respects to 20-year-old Kailen Spreadbury.
The father-of-one who lived in Southview Close, South Woodham Ferrers, died after the Ford Fiesta he was a passenger in crashed on Essex Yeomanry Way, Chelmsford, on Saturday March 1.
Exactly a week later around 600 people turned up to the home of Great Baddow FC, who Mr Spreadbury played for, to pay their respects.
During the evening dozens of Chinese lanterns were lit and set off into the sky.
