A "LANDMARK" deal has been agreed which will see new transport links, schools and shops come to a major housing development in north east Chelmsford.
Bosses at Chelmsford Council, Essex County Council, Countryside and L&Q have put pen to paper for the agreement which will be included in the £1billion project for 3,600 new homes in Beaulieu.
The deal delivers a number of infrastructure elements to the plans.
These include:
- A road connecting the development to the A12
- Two new primary schools and a secondary school
- Shops
- Community facilities
- Health service facilities
Following the conclusion of the deal, building work on the development can now begin.
A start date for construction has been earmarked for Spring this year.
