AN INVESTIGATION has been launched by police after a 69-year-old man died from head injuries sustained from an incident in West Hanningfield.
In the early hours of Thursday February 27 police were called round to a caravan in Bakers Lane after getting reports Ronald Mayne had received head injuries.
He was taken to Basildon Hospital before being transferred to Queen's Hospital, but died yesterday.
Detectives have now issued a witness appeal as they look into the incident.
A 75-year-old man from West Hanningfield was arrested in connection with the investigation and has been bailed until April 29 pending further enquiries.
