Ex-drug taking student nominated for national gong

A WOMAN who has made a success of her life after years of personal problems is up for a national prize.

Holly Meakin, 21, from Chelmsford, is one of three candidates for the Mappin & Webb Young Ambassador of the Year at the national Prince's Trust & Samsung Celebrate Success Awards.

Through the Prince's Trust, Holly who used to skip school and take drugs now works with the charity to help others youngsters having similar problems.

She will find out whether she has won or not when the ceremony takes place at the Leicester Square Odeon on Wednesday March 12.
