FIGHTING and a soldier's life in Essex during the fourteenth century will be discussed in Chelmsford on Saturday March 8.
A conference called The Fighting Essex Soldier: Recruitment, War and Remembrance in the Fourteenth Century is being held at the Essex Records Office in Wharf Road.
The event will look at the impact had by battles on the people of the county along with how dead soldiers were remembered locally.
Medieval style group music will also be played live as lunchtime entertainment during the day which runs from 9.30am to 4.15pm.
Tickets cost £15 and include refreshments and a buffet lunch.
