MORE than £100,000 worth of cannabis was found in a farm’s underground bunker in Sandon on Monday morning.
Officers from Essex Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Directorate raided the property in Hammonds Road at about 7am on February 17.
Found in a container inside the bunker were 260 cannabis plants worth £101,000.
Shortly after the discovery officers went to Hall Lane and arrested the property owner Wayne Mixture.
The 43-year-old was then charged on Tuesday morning with one count of being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug, one count of being in possession of a stun gun and one count of illegally abstracting electricity.
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday afternoon and entered no plea during a brief hearing.
Mixture will is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday May 12 and was granted conditional bail.
