THERE are reports of trees down in Chelmsford as strong winds begin hitting Essex.

Police are attending the scene of one felled tree on Princess Road, which is partially blocking the road to Tesco.

A speed restriction has been put in place on the QEII Bridge, with winds of more than 40mph already striking the region.
