AN ENTRANCE at Chelmsford station will be closed from Sunday for ten weeks to help with £3.2million upgrade work.

The doors leading onto Duke Street will be shut off from public use to allow space for builders to carry out some of the works.

Passengers will still be able to use the other two stations entrances just off Railway Street and Victoria Road.

Some of the upgrade work has already begun with plans for the station including a new ticket hall, toilets, retail units and improved customer information systems.

Access to the London-bound platform will also be improved with an additional set of stairs being installed opposite Chelmsford bus station.

Alterations are also set to be made to accessing the same platform from the main ticket hall.
