A FORMER dancer who performed on stage with Steps and Five has set up a pop dancing fitness class in Broomfield.
The sessions at Broomfield Village Hall will run every Monday evening with Gemma Cook teaching dance moves to people while helping them keep fit at the same time.
Those who come along will be taught dance moves to pop songs while going through a cardio workout at the same time.
Mrs Cook, 33, of New London Road, Chelmsford, spent 11 years touring the world dancing with famous acts before retiring five years ago following the birth of the first of her two children.
She said the classes will provide a fun way of keeping fit while also learning a new skill.
Mrs Cook said: “The aim is to have a combination of fun and fitness.
“Each week I’ll teach new dance moves and build up a routine with the music which will culminate in a big routine at the end of the class.
“I think it is important to have a sense of enjoyment when you’re trying to keep fit otherwise you won’t stick at it and I’m hoping these classes will provide this.”
Sessions start at 8.15pm each week with entry being £5 per person.
