Lengthly jail terms for thugs who assaulted man in his home
Updated 12:57pm Monday 27th January 2014 in News
A PAIR of thugs have been given long prison sentences after beating up a man in Chelmsford last June.
Gary Watts, 47, of Manor Road, Grays, and Michael Davis, 40, of West Avenue, Melbourne estate, Chelmsford, were given 12 and ten year jail terms respectively after assaulting a man in his 50s.
On June 25 the pair entered the victim's home in Murchison Close and beat him up.
They were both charged with GBH with intent.
Police are now looking for a third man suspected to be involved in the same attack.
Dc Martin Amundsen said: "We know there are potential witnesses who may be reluctant to come forward but knowing these two men have now received prison sentences may give them some reassurance to tell us what they know and provide us with the name of the third person involved in the assault."
Anyone with information should contact Dc Amundsen at Chelmsford CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
