COMEDIAN Chris Ramsey says he is hoping to prove the title of his stand up tour is as ironic as intended.

Tomorrow the 27-year-old will take to the stage at the Civic Theatre stage in Chelmsford as his tour comes to the city.

The show entitled The Most Dangerous Man On Saturday Morning TV reflects upon foot in mouth moments of life and stems from an appearance Ramsey made on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM.

“While on the show I got a bit carried away and said something which got me sent off and banned for life from ever appearing there again,” the man from South Shields explains.

“I don’t think it was even that bad what I said, I didn’t swear and it was something a bit daft.

“Obviously the title is ironic as I’m not the most dangerous man on Saturday morning TV and it is a way of taking the mickey out of myself.

“But the show is about the things I’ve said which have got me in trouble and there are some real cringeworthy moments in there.”

Ahead of the evening in Chelmsford, the Edinburgh Award nominated comic said he is really looking forward to performing at the Civic.

Ramsey said: “I did a show here last year which was great, even more so for my warm up act Carl Hutchinson as there was amateur wrestling on before us so he got to watch that.

“I love coming to places like Chelmsford and towns on the edge of London as the audiences are fantastic and they’re always really up for it.

“Touring is where I’m most at home. I do a lot of TV work now but I’m still always touring in between going on shows like Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Mock The Week.

“I love the interaction you can get between the audience and youself. There’s lots of freedom, kind of like being the star of a TV show without the cameras.”

The self confessed Nandos fan also said he may well take a trip down to the restaurant in the city centre especially after knowing it is where Beyonce spent £1,500 during last year’s V Festival.

“If it is good enough for Beyonce then I’ll try to go there,” an excited Ramsey said.

“I won’t be spending as much money as she did though.”

Tickets for the show starting at 7.45pm are still available priced £16.50.
