A MOTORBIKE rider had his vehicle stolen while he helped someone get out of flood waters in Margaretting.

The 22-year-old from Chelmsford had pulled over on Maldon Road at about 6pm on Friday after seeing a motorist trying to get their car out of flood water.

However, after helping with the rescue, the rider turned round to see his white and black coloured Orion Apollo had been stolen.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is urged to call Chelmsford police station on 101.
