ITEMS of jewellery and a green khaki canvas bag were stolen in Margaretting on Monday January 13.
At some time between 7.30am and 8.15pm crooks forced their way through the back doors of a property in Main Road before taking the goods.
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses with investigating officers believing motorists may hold the key to finding the burglars.
Pc Ray Hull, added: "This happened on a Main Road where there would have been lots of passing traffic, so I’m hoping someone may have seen some suspicious activity.
"I would particularly like to speak to the driver of a silver Berlingo type vehicle which was seen in the area at the time.”
It is also thought the bag may have been dumped nearby.
