Updated 1:45pm Friday 10th January 2014 in News
SLIMMERS from across Chelmsford lost a bus load of weight last year.
A combined total of 2,800 stone was shed by members of the 13 Slimming World groups around the city in 2013 which is the equivalent of a bus full of passengers.
To celebrate the achievement, some of the slimmers hopped on a bus together in the city.
Fi Lipscomb, a member of the Broomfield group, lost 4st 7lbs over the last year slipping down from a size 24 to 12 and said the support everyone provides at the group is a real help.
She said: “Reaching this milestone as a group just proves the huge change that we’ve all made to our lives, some people who’ve lost big amounts of weight have probably even saved their lives.
“It’s brilliant to celebrate together as well because that’s how we’ve been losing weight – together.
“Every week we support and encourage each other and share tips and recipes, and on top of that we have a lot of fun.”
