A MAN from Bedfordshire has been arrested and charged with burglary following an incident in Stock last month.

James Whiteman, 34, of The Vineyards, Silsoe, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Friday.

He is accused of stealing designer clothes and cash from a home in Birch Lane at some point during December 27 and 28.

The builder has also been charged over drug offences relating to an incident in Margaretting last February.

Whiteman has been remanded in custody until January 27 when he is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court.
