POLICE have arrested two men in an investigation over the death of a festival-goer in August.

Paul Wickerson, 32, from Australia, died after being struck by a car about 20 minutes after leaving Brownstock Festival at Stow Maries on August 31.

On Monday, a 29-year-old man from Shoeburyness was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and a 36-year-old man from Southend was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Both have been bailed until February 19 pending further enquiries.

Investigations have suggested Mr Wickerson left the festival site at Woodham Road at about 10.21pm.

He died at about 10.45pm at Lower Burnham Road, Cold Norton, near the junction with Fambridge Road.

A 48-year-old man from Ilford and a 32-year-old man from Sawbridgeworth, Herts have already been arrested in October on suspicion of manslaughter.

They have been bailed until January 28 pending further enquries.
