BOSSES of a family-run uniform clothing business from Chelmsford got to meet ex-Dragons Den Theo Paphitis at an awards night.

Schoolwear Plus, based in Parkway, met the multi-millionnaire businessman at the Small Business Sunday initiative awards evening in Birmingham.

The scheme was set up by Paphitis in 2010 to promote smaller businesses across the UK.

Earlier this year the owner of stationary retailers Ryman retweeted a tweet to his 400,000 followers sent by the Chelmsford firm’s marketing manager Victoria Glascock.

This resulted in the company getting an extra 200 followers in quick time and they are also profiled on a website set up by Paphitis.

Miss Glascock said: “It was an incredible experience to win Small Business Sunday, especially so close to our tenth anniversary and even better to meet Theo himself.

“I have been running the Twitter and Facebook presence for Schoolwear Plus for about two years now and I’m honoured that Theo has chosen to recognise all the hard work that my family and I put in to running the business.”
