A BEAUTY was made to feel like a Disney princess on her birthday as she competed in a pageant at Disneyland Paris.

Rachel Burnett, of Marigold Close, Springfield, took part in the Face of the World Finals which saw 65 females aged between six and 30 from across the globe coming to the French theme park.

Over the course of six days, Miss Burnett took part in a series of talent and dress rounds while also getting the chance to go on the rides.

It was extra special experience for the physiotherapy student as the final fell on her 24th birthday.

Miss Burnett said: “I felt like a princess when my birthday came.

“Where better to spend your birthday than Disney? It was the day when we had to wear our ball gowns for Face of the World, so it truly was special.

Representing Chelmsford, Miss Burnett finished 16th overall and said she enjoyed being a part of the pageant.

She added: For six days I wore my sash with pride explaining to all who stopped us and asking about the pageant and where Chelmsford is, putting us back on the map.

“It was a great experience and I have made connections with people not only all over the UK but over seas in France and the USA.”

A total of just over £50,000 was raised during the pageant for brain injury charity Headway.
