7:00am Sunday 27th October 2013 in News
SIMON Burns found himself in the company of Bill and Hillary Clinton at a dinner event.
The Chelmsford MP was invited to the evening held by the family’s own foundation set up by Bill, Hillary and Chelsea to help people in need.
Mr Burns, who has a great interest in American politics, got the opportunity to speak to the former US President.
He also spoke with Hillary who he has met on two other occasions.
Mr Burns said: “They are great, absolutely charming and when you to talk to Bill Clinton he is able to make you feel you are the only person in the room who he is interested in talking to.
“I spoke to Bill about the work he is doing in Africa on HIV/ Aids and reducing the cost of drugs in the Third World.
“I chatted to Hillary about what I was doing at the moment in Parliament, what she was doing for the Clinton Foundation since her retirement as Secretary of State and what she has been doing in London for the past two days.
“They are doing a fantastic job with the work they are doing in providing cheap drugs for people suffering from HIV/ Aids and the work they are doing to help the less well-off members of society.”
