CCTV appeal after teen robbed on train
POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a teenager was robbed on a train.
The victim, 16, was heading to Colchester when a man threatened him with violence and took his mobile phone.
After making conversation with the teenager at Stratford station the robber boarded the same train.
During the journey the victim was subjected to intimidating questions from the man which led him to hand over his phone.
Despite pleading for its return, he refused to hand the victim back his phone, and left the train at Chelmsford after threatening the victim with violence if he reported the crime.
At the station he changed clothes before heading into the city centre.
He had with him a black sports drawstring bag with a distinctive gold emblem.
The robbery took place on Sunday September 1 on the 10.39pm Liverpool Street to Clacton service.
