Schools in Chelmsford affected by teaching strikes
4:00pm Monday 30th September 2013 in News
Many pupils will get the day off tomorrow as schools around Chelmsford will be closed or partially shut due to teaching strikes.
Members of the National Union of Teachers and National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers will walk out of their schools on October 1 over a row regarding their pay, pensions and work conditions.
Secondary schools which will closed to students for the day are William De Ferrers in South Woodham Ferrers and Moulsham High School.
Chelmsford County High School for Girls will also be closed as part of a planned inset day, rather than strike action.
Hylands School will be open for Year 11 only while Chelmer Valley High will remain open for exam sitting students in Year 11, 12 and 13.
Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students from Boswells School will have classes run as normal.
New Hall School and King Edward VI Grammar School will stay open.
