RESIDENTS living within a certain postcode band in Boreham are celebrating after scooping prizes of up to £666,666.
A total of 24 players were cheering as the latest People’s Postcode Lottery draw selected CM3 3GY as the winning code, meaning they shared a £2million pot.
Cheques ranging from £7,295 and upwards were handed out to players during a special ceremony at Crix House in Hatfield Peverel. Tracie Barry took home the biggest windfall with a cheque worth £666,666 being handed over to the 43-year-old who said she was gobsmacked at the amount won through her two tickets.
Mrs Barry said: “When they revealed my first cheque for £14,590, I was delighted, but when I saw that it was my full postcode that had won I was left utterly stunned. “I have phoned my two adult sons Sean and Nick and I don’t think they believed me.”
Another big winner was 57-year-old David Carter who bagged £333,333 with his ticket and plans to fly out to Thailand with his wife of 36 years Ladda to renew their wedding vows.
Mr Carter said: “This is just fantastic, this is all for my wife. She’s the best wife ever and everything I have ever done is for her, whatever she wants to do with the money is her decision.”
