8:31am Tuesday 3rd September 2013 in News
A festival-goer was pulled to the ground and kicked in the face by about ten men.
Detectives are appealing for information after the 30-year-old man was attacked in the dance tent at the Brownstock Festival in Stow Maries on Saturday.
The victim, from the Chelmsford area, was repeatedly kicked, causing deep cuts to his face which needed stitches.
The incident was between 11.30pm and midnight.
Investigating officer, Det Con Jonathan Robinson, said: "I’m hoping that other festival-goers may have witnessed this attack which happened in the yellow and blue dance tent later on Saturday night. "I urgently need them to come forward with any information they might have as the victim has sustained some significant injuries.”
The suspects were ten men who were all of all of muscular build.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Mr Robinson or his colleagues at Chelmsford CID, on 101.
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
