A CRICKET club has been given just over £21,000 to help improve training facilities at their home ground.
Great Baddow Cricket Club received a grant worth £21,121 from the England and Wales Cricket Trust, the charitable arm of the England and Wales Cricket Board.
The cash will help pay for a three-lane synthetic practice area at their ground, just off Baddow Road, which is costing £46,000 in total.
Peter Hussey, the project leader for the club, said: “In the future we will be able to have a much more structured coaching programme and all age groups, seniors and juniors, will benefit.
“Importantly, the new practice area will provide the ideal safe environment for the development of young players and there will be increased coaching and play opportunities.”
