Man robbed and beaten at cashpoint
6:30am Saturday 16th February 2013 in News
A MAN was beaten up while trying to get money out of a cash machine in Galleywood.
At about 8.20pm on February 2, the victim was getting £30 from the machine outside McColls newsagents, in Watchouse Road, when he was approached by two men.
The man suffered cuts and grazes after the pair dragged him to the ground and assaulted him, but he did not require further treatment at hospital.
While he was on the ground, another person came and took the cash which was sticking out of the machine.
After taking the money, the trio of crooks ran away from the scene.
Essex Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information about the incident.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Chelmsford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
