A CHILDREN’S charity which runs a visitor centre at Chelmsford Prison is looking for cyclists to take part in an event.

Ormiston Children and Families Trust has organised a bike ride from London to Paris in June to help raise funds for the charity.

The group runs the family visitor centre which provides support for relatives who go and see inmates at the prison in Springfield Road.

A group of at least 20 firefighters is being sought by the charity to participate in the ride.

Lucy Potter, the charity’s head of fundraising, said: “London to Paris is one of the best cycling routes in Europe, the setting is so picturesque and the finishing line is at the Eiffel Tower, which is just stunning.”

Anyone who is interested in taking part should call community fundraiser Vicky Beckinsale on 07825 337161.
