Five year jail term for V Fest killer

A MAN who admitted killing a festival-goer during a house party in August has been jailed for five years.

Sam Martin, 26, of Eastwood Road, Leigh, who had pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Anton Jardin was handed the prison sentence on Tuesday after being cleared of murder by a jury at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday.

Martin killed Mr Jardin, 39, of Eastwood Road, Rayleigh, on August 19 last year during a fight which took place at a house in London Road, opposite Hylands Park.

The incident happened during the same weekend V Festival took place.
