CLERGYMEN have published a child protection action pack to help keep youngsters safe from abuse.
The Diocese of Chelmsford, fronted by Bishop of Chelmsford Stephen Cottrell, has launched the pack asking churches in Essex and east London to make sure they provide a safe place for everyone.
The pack contains a manual about the policy along with a poster for church noticeboards, an action card and a letter from Bishop Stephen, who said child abuse must stop.
Bishop Stephen said: “The abuse of children in our society does terrible damage. No community is immune to it.
"In our churches we must be unflinching in our determination to protect all children from harm.
“Looking the other way is not an option.”
