A CO-OPERATIVE group is looking for a charity for which to raise money over the next year.
Chelmsford Star, which has 48 stores, will pick a selection of charities and hold fundraising events.
A shortlist will be announced next month, with members of the society then voting for their preferred option.
The winner will be announced after the society’s annual general meeting at the end of April.
The current charity sponsored by the group is Canine Partners and previously Families in Focus for which the Co-op raised £35,000.
Over the past five years more than £150,000 has been raised by members of the society for charities in Essex.
Any charities which would be interested should contact Pauline Dodd, the society’s president, via coty@chelmsfordstar.coop or write to 220 Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 OLS before January 31.
