Overturned truck spills load on A12 - UPDATED

Debris were left scattered across a major road just outside of Chelmsford after a large dumper truck overturned.
The vehicle jackknifed and turned over following a crash involving a silver Ford Focus near the Galleywood junction of the north-bound A12 at about 6.30am.
Firefighters from Chelmsford and Southend had to cut a man free from the lorry while the main carriageway was closed off to rush hour motorists due to the spillage of material from the truck.
Delays tailing back to junction 20 for Hatfield Peverel were caused due to the road closure with traffic being diverted around the scene.
The section of road on the north-bound side which has been closed is due to reopen in the afternoon.
