A YOUNG drama school student has landed a role in a West End musical.

Noah Miller, seven, of Rossendale, Chelmsford, is playing Franklin Jnr in Merrily We Roll Along, at the Menier Chocolate Factory, in London, which runs until March 9.

The Elm Green School pupil who is also part of Chelmsford-based drama school Tomorrow’s Talent bagged the role which is his first professional performance after just one audition.

Noah said he was very pleased to land the role on a West End stage.

“When I found out they had picked me I was very happy,” he said.

“It’s a really good feeling when I’m up on stage in London and I really enjoy it. I definitely want to keep doing this in the future.”

The musical focuses on three friends’ turbulent relationship over three decades and features songs written by Academy Award winning composer Stephen Sondheim.

Lisa Miller, Noah’s mother, said the whole family is proud to see him on the stage.

She added: “When we went for the audition it was only Noah’s first while the other boys who were all older were there for their second or third audition, so Noah has done really well to get the role.

“He has been great coping with the late nights and learning his lines as well.

“We have already been to see the show and I have to say me and my husband Mark did have a tear in our eye seeing Noah up on stage, we are both so proud of him.”
