Dad attacked in front of young son
7:00am Thursday 3rd January 2013 in News
A FATHER was left covered in blood after being attacked in front of his infant son by three thugs.
Lee Morgan, 41, was beaten up at about 2.30pm on December 20 by the teens in Barnard Road, Galleywood, after they had confronted him as he was walking home.
His ten-month-old son, Tommy, was with him at the time and had to be pushed out of the way by Mr Morgan as the attackers started throwing kicks and punches.
Mr Morgan, who also says the crooks stole £200 from him, suffered cuts to his head after the incident, which has left him shaken up.
He said: “As I was walking home from Watchouse Road, two young lads jumped over a wall and bumped into me.
“I heard one of them say “you’re lucky you didn’t get shanked bruv”, to which I said “what?” which led to a bit of a confrontation.
“I ran off and cut through to Barnard Road, but then moments later the guys reappeared, confronted me and started attacking me. I pushed Tommy’s pushchair out of the way because I didn’t want him getting hurt and tried to fight back.
“I had one guy constantly punching me in the back of the head then another guy appeared and kicked me in the front of the head, which cut me open, before they ran off.
“I’ve just got to try to make my son’s Christmas happy, but I’ve been depressed since the attack. I just feel so unconfident.”
Essex Police are investigating and have urged anyone with information to call Chelmsford police station on 101.
