RESIDENTS in Chelmsford have been given crime prevention tips after police noticed a number of back door break-ins.
As part of Operation Nemesis, officers from Essex Police have given advice about methods they can do to avoid burglars being attracted to breaking-in and stealing from their homes.
Tips included making sure fencing is of a good standard, padlocking gates, making the house seem occupied at all times by leaving a light or radio on and fitting an alarm.
Anyone who sees anything suspicious in their area should call 999 if urgent, 101 if less serious or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
