A MAN has admitted to assaulting another male at a club, leaving him with serious head injuries.
Nicky Bowers, 26, from Newham, east London, pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday to one count of grevious bodily harm.
During the early hours of August 11 this year, Bowers punched two men at Hooga Bar, in Victoria Road, Chelmsford, putting one of the victims, a 50-year-old man, in a coma.
He was taken to Broomfield Hospital before being transferred to Queens Hospital in Romford where he is described as being in a critical but stable condition.
The other victim was knocked out by the blow dealt by Bowers, but managed to regain consciousness hours later.
Bowers has been remanded in custody until he reappears at the same court the week commencing January 7 when he will receive his sentence.
