MP Simon Burns has received a letter signed by 512 pupils and staff at King Edward Grammar School calling for the Government to take steps to minimise Corporation Tax evasion.
The Tory MP for Chelmsford met students at the school on Friday afternoon to discuss their thoughts on the tax and what should be done to stop companies avoiding paying it.
He then took the letter, which he said he would send to Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills Vince Cable.
Mr Burns said: “I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments that all companies should pay tax, rather than legally seeking to avoid their tax responsibilities.
“Following a very interesting discussion with KEGS pupils on Friday, I will be sending a copy of their letter to the Business Secretary, Vince Cable MP, as part of the lobby to make sure the Government cracks down on these tax loopholes.”
