MY first experience of Goldie Looking Chain was at V Festival 2005.

They were on the main stage and they got the place rocking with a madcap performance full of humour and energy.

So I was keen to see them again and curious to see how the act would work in the smaller Virgin Union arena.

And I clearly wasn’t the only one who knew what great value the Welsh boys are live.

The tent was jam-packed and festival-goers crammed 12 rows deep at each entrance to get a glimpse of the garish tracksuits, tasteless headwear and weighty bling.

The crowd lapped up the bizarre subjects, outlandish lyrics and mock hip-hop dancing from the bearded Mystikal, gawky Maggot and the other seven lads.

It was festival fun with more than a few expletives thrown in for good measure.

Your Missus is a Nutter and Guns Don’t Kill People Rappers Do led to the band’s festival favourite – Your Mother’s Got a Penis.

They proved they are still the best hip-hop satire group around (even if they are the only one).
