WELSH rockers Stereophonics pulled in the crowds with a set of chart topping singles.

The trio, led by frontman Kelly Jones, roused fans of all ages at V Festival’s main stage on Saturday as they rolled out hits that spanned the band‘s career.

They included tracks from their first two albums Word Gets Round and Performance and Cocktails including The Bartender and the Thief, Burn a Thousand Trees, More Life in a Tramps Vest, Just Looking and Local Boy in the Photograph.

The emphasis on the 90s was probably a nod to their forthcoming greatest hits album A Decade in the Sun .

But half way through their set they broke the mould to play one new song You’re My Star which looks set to be the final track on the new album.

But the crowds clearly wanted the familiar and seemed much more comfortable roaring along to the power choruses of Maybe Tomorrow, Mr Writer and the number one hit Dakota, which followed.
