V Festival organisers have today revealed some of the bands who will form this year's line-up.

True to the rumours that have been circulating the music press over the past couple of weeks, two of the headliners will be The Killers and Snow Patrol.

The third top act are US rockers Foo Fighters - which means all three headliners this year are V veterans.

In a new move for the people behind one of the country's biggest live music festivals, they have announced more bands on the first day than ever before, with no less than 20 more acts revealed today.

They include the pretenders to Oasis' rock crown, Kasabian, American popster Pink and recent Brit winner Amy Winehouse.

While many of the bands have played the festival before, there are some new names, including Babyshambles, Mika and the all-conquering Fratellis.

As always, as well as the new, there are some also some acts who have been around awhile.

Those who should be guaranteed a big share of the crowds include Primal Scream, Happy Mondays and the triumphantly-returning Manic Street Preachers.

The full line-up announced today is as follows: The Killers; Snow Patrol; Foo Fighters; Kasabian; Pink; James; Basement Jaxx; The Kooks; Amy Winehouse; Manic Street Preachers; The Fratellis; Primal Scream; Damien Rice; Babyshambles; Happy Mondays; Paolo Nutini; KT Tunstall; Mika; James Morrison; Sophie Ellis Bextor; The Fray; The Proclaimers; and The Goo Goo Dolls.
