Poldark’s Aidan Turner says he would never sign a contract that said he couldn’t cut his hair.

The actor, who rose to fame playing Ross Poldark in the hit BBC period drama, caused a stir when his character appeared topless, scythe in hand as part of the storyline.

The 32-year-old Irish-born star told Radio Times he wouldn’t do a Kit Harington.

He was talking in reference to the fact that Kit, who played Jon Snow in Game Of Thrones, was rumoured to have signed a contract saying he couldn’t cut his signature locks.

Aidan told Radio Times: “I wouldn’t sign a contract like that.”

This Christmas he can been seen in the BBC adaptation of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None.

Talking about his role, Aidan said: “I play Philip Lombard, who’s a gun-for-hire, a mercenary. He’s done a lot of nasty things for his own benefit, really immoral, only cares about himself, massive ego, but a smart, confident, charming guy.”

Poldark series two returns to BBC One in 2016.
