Victoria Beckham has said the most important thing to her about being a designer is “being a woman designing for women”.

The former Spice Girl turned successful fashion designer is featured in Elle USA magazine’s 30th anniversary edition in which she was asked to choose her fashion muse.

Victoria hailed 17-year-old Estonian model Alexandra Elizabeth Ljadov, because she fitted with Elle’s “fun and young” style.

Posh Spice said: “Elle is about personal expression. It doesn’t dictate. A fun, young approach to fashion that somehow seamlessly brings together the accessible and the aspirational.”

Alexandra may not be very well known off the catwalk, but in the fashion world she has earned the title of “hardest working model” of the moment.

She has modelled for Prada, Marc Jacobs and Chanel and is busy travelling the world as she is in hot demand for catwalk shows right now.

But free-spritied Alexandra has found time for a holiday – and loves her ice cream.

Elle USA’s The Elle Look issue features an impressive collection of top designers and their celebrity muses, and Victoria said she was “honoured to be included”.

Giorgio Armani features on the cover, with his muse Czech model Karolina Kurkova.

Kick Ass star Chloe Moretz was chosen as the muse for Coach’s Stuart Vevers, while actresses-turned-designing-duo the Olsen twins chose artist Beatrix Ost.

Mary-Kate and Ashley said: “Beatrix is such a fascinating, strong woman, with such effortless style. She embodies the spirit of the brand.”

Homeland star Claire Danes is the muse of choice for American designer Narciso Rodriguez.

He said: “Claire’s warmth, grace and dignity are rare in this world. She personifies the word muse.”

Derek Lam chose Oscar-nominated actress Laura Linney, while Proenza Schouler chose Hollywood wild child Chloe Sevigny.

Carolina Herrera chose young British rising star Gugu Mbatha-Raw as her muse.

Louis Vuitton’s Nicolas Ghesquiere championed actress Charlotte Gainsbourg for being, “the ultimate romantic heroine. She is moving, delicate, and forever sensitive.”

And British designer Erdem picked Alexa Chung, because she is, “An intelligent beauty… always marches to the beat of her own drum.”
