RICOCHET is back and showcasing more unsigned artists at the Kursaal Function Suite, on Friday.
The third event, which is pushing for a monthly slot at the venue, in Southchurch Avenue, Southend, is hosting four indie and punk rock bands without a record deal.
Last year’s XFM unsigned winners, Sub Pop Sunday will be topping the bill on the night.
Fronted by the enigmatic vocalist Rich Judge, the four- piece group have supported big league names the Kooks and Jarvis Cocker.
Next up is Buried In Mexico, a trio who combine punk, dance and indie to create a thick and forceful sound, more than the sum of their parts.
And with Jessica Curties’ voice reminiscent of the Ting Tings’ Katie White, the band are set to grab listeners by the earlobes. Pure Punksters the Dash will bring their acrobatic and frenzied stage show to Ricochet.
Having earned support slots with both the Libertines and Babyshambles, the quartet’s adrenaline-fuelled performance is likely to impress the crowds.
Checking Pulse, the second female-fronted band of the night, will play a blend of rock, electronica and pop.
“We want people to be buzzing when they leave the place,” says Jason Davis, of JJ Promotions, who organise the night.
Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are £5 and available from www.urgoing.to/ricochet3
